The Manufacturing

Process

THERE ARE FOUR DIFFERENT MANUFACTURING PROCESSES USED IN PULP MOULDING:

  • Thick-walled products using simple thick wall moulding
  • Medium- to thin-walled products using transfer moulding
  • Refined products using thermoforming
  • Medium thickness components with high contour accuracy through the use of secondary processes

Our specialist applications engineers analyse together with you the technical requirements of the project and derive from this in each case the manufacturing process required for your application.

In doing so, we take into account the customized requirements and can also produce special configurations such as, for example: waterproof or fireproof products, products with especially high contour accuracy and products with soft surfaces.

1. THE SIMPLE THICK WALL PROCESS

The simple thick wall process is suitable for larger, very robust thick-walled moulded part “heavy duty” applications

2. THE TRANSFER MOULDING PROCESS

The transfer moulding process is used for medium thickness moulded fibre parts and it’s primary application is in classic technical protective packaging

3. THE THERMOFORMING PROCESS

The thermoforming process is used for thin-walled moulded fibre parts with high contour accuracies and finds it’s primary application in the manufacture of small format designer packaging

4. SECONDARY PROCESS MOULDING

The secondary moulding process follows the transfer process and serves for the achievement of a higher contour accuracy in medium thickness moulded fibre parts. After the dry parts exit the continuous oven they are pressed into shape again in an additional step.
